We find that most of our juniors get caught over rotating their lower body. Here we have Antonio making great progress as his knees tend to “collapse” in the back swing. He has the impact bag between his legs feeling like he is not using his lower body. We know we need to use the lower body and even with the bag there is lower body movement just not excessive amount.

Some of the biggest improvements can come from the smallest changes. If you’re struggling with contact you’re likely not in sequence. If your contact suffers you likely have club face control issues. There were many things we wanted to change in this first lesson. But the students repeatedly at squaring the face was throughout the bag. Instead we decided to educate the student about what controls the face and cleaned up some alignment. Short game we did address the flat plane here and the goal is to blend some of those short game changes into the full swing over time to neutralize the face even more. ⛳️

The spine is not perfectly straight but the ability to manipulate your pelvis to “straighten” your lower back can improve your spine rotation and save your back from injury.

The ONE putting drill you need to be doing

Stick two tees in the ground wide enough for the ball but not enough for the putter head to pass through. Place the ball halfway between the tees. Simply make your stroke and let the putter head collided into the ball and be stopped by the tees.

*Have an intended target (hole, tee, spot) to judge how long your backswing needs to be to create enough energy to get the ball to the target

** You should not break the tees

*** Phase out of the drill by pushing the tees into the ground leaving about a 1/4 inch. Now you shouldn’t hit the tees.
